Salmon Udon

simple recipe but a great combo…

Acquire some udon noodles from Trader Joes or better yet a japanese market… Cook as directed using some chicken broth mixed in with the boiling water (i use 1 part water 1 part broth).

Get some salmon (fresh or frozen) from your choice of market.. I just use some frozen salmon from costco, tastes great to me. Bake the salmon steak with extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, and dill weed.

1) get bowl, fill with cooked noodles, cover noodles with salmon

Post all your spaghetti sauce recipe’s!!

Looking to make some small changes to mine.. seeing what you guys use!

I’m sick of buying canned/bottled stuff, I’d like to try making some.
vine ripened tomatoes, basil, oregano, and white wine is all i usually use if i make my own. not great but its easy
1 Can, Crushed Tomatoes (much nicer than canned sauce)
Dash Lemon Juice
Pinch Sugar
Sea Salt & Fresh Ground Black Pepper to taste
2 Roasted Red Bell Peppers Finely Diced (You can buy them in a can or jar, and they add a nice smokey undernote)

Easiest/Fastest Recipes

I need some help. What are some of the fastest and easiest things you cook? I am always busy and never have time to cook a full normal meal, but I need ideas on anything that is extremely fast and easy.
Baked chicken breasts don’t take very long. Get that in the oven with some veggies on the stove and your eating in about 30 minutes.

Vodka infusions

I’ve been running a moonshine still and making vodka at home for a couple years now. I used to run a batch every other week, and the output was enough for 11 fifths of pretty good vodka that I turned into panty-melting infusions. I don’t even know how many recipes I have in my head. Once every couple months I’ll make a batch now and I spend money on good ingredients with a nice product in mind.

Everybody remembers my peppermint schnapps from last Christmas and the Thanksgiving special edition coffee-spiker I made this year. Good stuff.

Found the best Juice to mix alcohol with

Not sure if anyone remembers it or not, but Five Alive is back. It’s a blend of 5 different citrus fruits: orange, lemon, grapefruit, tangerine, and lime. Unfortuneatley it is from concentrate but still is quite tasty, much better than regular orange juice in my opinion. It was qutie popular in the early to mid 90s but production slowed in the late 90s up until now.

I have recently discovered mixing Five Alive with gin is possibly one of the best gin mixers out there. It’s also quite good for screwdrivers with vodka. I’ve been meaning to come up with a more complex drink recipie using it, but have been kinda lazy. When I come up with one I’ll post it here.

Home Bar, what am I missing?

Currently I have the following stocked…
Beefeater Gin
Tanqueray Gin
Bombay Saphire Gin
Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey
Jack Daniels No. 7 Whiskey
Crown Royal Candian Whiskey
Jameson Irish Whiskey
Belvedere Vodka
Sky Vodka
Absolute Vodka
Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
Bacardi Superior Rum
Jose Cuervo Tequila
Baileys Irish Creme
Kahlua Liqueur

What am I missing to have a have a "well stocked" bar? I know their are a bunch of Liqueurs I’m missing, but some I would probally never use so I don’t want to waste money on it. Any one have any suggestions?

Coffee Question

So the coffee at my work is REALLY horrible (one of those Flavia machines with "flavored" coffees etc) so I want to just make my own coffee. Here is the question: should I buy a french press or my own personal 4 cup coffee maker?

why do you say that?

Wine Recomendations

My favorite under $15 wine recomendation:
Estanice Cabernet Sauvingnon
Average Price $12 in VA. Available in most wine retailers
Tasting Notes:
Every year its a consistantly good bottle of wine. I have never had a bad vintage. It will easilly age for 10 years, however is always drinkable now.
