parents are visiting my apt for the first time next weekend… need to impress since they are always condescending to me. tried those sprays you can pick up at your local grocery store but they aren’t that good.
basically i need something relatively strong to get the smell of beer/chicken/ketchup out of here.
i’d start by making sure that you thoroughly clean the place. vacuum the carpets and floors, then steam clean the carpets and mop the floors. dust all of your furniture (use a cleaning polish). maybe get an air purifier if for whatever reason you’ve got "moist" air. also try out some air fresheners from bed bath and beyond.

Welcome to the Kitchen.
Give me some suggestions, guys. Any ideas for sticky threads? I’m thinking maybe one for where people can post a recipe that they are going to follow, and then take pictures of the process would be fun. Also, a sticky with helpful links and resources would be a good idea, too.
On the liquor aspect.
A few ground rules:
1. Keep all discussion tasteful and relevant.
2. This is not the place to come for frat party tips. Nothing along the lines of “We’re having a kegger tonight, which beer will get us all drunk for cheap?” or “What’s a good jungle juice recipe?” Feel free to discuss microbrews or homebrewing recipes: the more refined facets of beer.
3. Say more than, “I love brand X of wine.” Tell us why you like it, what foods complement it well, how much it costs, where you can find it, etc. The more information you can give us, the better.
Any other suggestions? Any topics that would be good for a sticky? Perhaps homemade cocktail recipes? Let us know!
oh shi… i’d have to actually clean my cooktop if i were gonna take pics
the picture thread idea is good. I’d participate if I owned a digital camera. I’ll be sure to hot-link this forum whenever there’s a food thread in the main forums too
Thanks for the input, any more suggestions?

I told Dee a few months ago to go to a sports shop to get like a Jansport of Eastpack book bag because the ones she usually gets falls apart half way though the year. Well she didn’t listen to me, like anyone does. Well it finally feel apart and she got a new one. Guess what? I does not fit in her locker haha. I started laughing when I heard that. She also gets those stupid one with the wheels on it anyways. I’m going shoe shopping tomorrow. Hopefully my dad buys them because I don’t have any money. Plus he never buys me anything anyways, except food and I don’t have to pay rent. Doug downloaded a bunch of Blink songs for me so I’m burning them now. I only have dial up so it takes awhile to download. I work tomorrow at 5. Still no calls.

Ok no place has called me back. I applied at Kems and Save-A-Lot last Thursday and I’m getting nowhere. I called Eckerd, Hannaford, and Wal-Mart Thursday. Eckerd is not hiring, and Hannaford and Wal-Mart told me they would call me (so that means no). Doug said I would get an interview if I called them but all I got was “you can come down to the store and fill out an application” and “will call you.” Anyone else have any other ideas of where to work because I??™m running out of places, that AREN??™T food!
Doug came up Saturday. We played rotating hiding go seek, which is hard because the person your trying to find keeps moving from location to location. Then we went to Friendly in Johnstown and then to the movies to see Time Machine. I liked when he was in like late1800??™s and 2030??™s more than in 80,000??™s. Then on Sunday morning we went to Wal-Mart and Wendy??™s. I talked Doug out of getting a DVD player. He got me a box of little chicks.
