Need a new vacuum…

We have an older bagless vacuum, and its time to get a new one. The current one has a couple filters on them that after about 2 uses, clog up and restrict air flow. Also the can that traps the dirt is designed so that once it starts filling up, it loses suction. Add that to the fact that it just doesn’t flow as well as it used to and you’ve got a pretty worthless vacuum.

I really don’t want to spend a lot for a new one…a dyson is definitely out. What other suggestions do you guys have in a bagless, preferably upright?

I really want to get out cheap…I’m hoping i can find a good one in the $50-60 range…but may have to go up to more like $100.

As low as possible really.

I really want the Dyson DC14 (animal), i just can’t justify that.

jeez, youre not going to find a huge selection of bagless vacs for under 60 bucks. but like i said, try a hoover z. not the greatest vac, and sometimes kind of akward, but it works and pulls a lot of shit out. and i believe you can get one right now at linen and things with their 20% coupon for around 70-80 bucks

I googled it…and the ones i found are like $500
Well my son went to the doctor today and was diagnosed with pneumonia…again. The doctor suggested that we start taking measures, because he thinks there is something in the house he is allergic to that keeps making him sick. Trouble is he can’t be accurately allergy tested for a while yet (he’s too young). So it looks like i may just bite the bullet and go for the Dyson.

Now the question…DC14, DC15, or DC17? I will definitely be getting one with the "animal" mini power attachment. But which one is best among those three?
FYI, most dysons do not have hepa filters to catch the allergens. They pull up a lot of dirt but don’t contain the particles that may cause allergies. Only certain models have hepa filters available for them and they are quite expensive.

Best thing I ever did for my allergies was to get rid of the carpets.
All the dysons i was looking at all have the hepa filter. Yes they are expensive, but from what i have found, seem to be the best performing vacuums. They also all claim to be "asthma friendly". Which should be a good thing, since i have asthma and i suspect my son does too.

They must have added the hepa filters as standard since the last time I looked at them.
you know im not trying to sack ride or anything here, but have you ever seen a kirby demo? i know those fuckers are expensive as hell, but you will be amazed by the kind of stuff it will pull up. and the kind of filtration that they use, imho they are untouched in the vacuum industry
