Just read ‘The Kite Runner’
an excellent fictional story based in afghanistan from about the 80s to almost present day, I would highly recommend this book.
I just came in here for the first time to recommend this book as well. I read it in two days and loved every second of it. Definitly pick up this book.
hmmm, i have been eye-ing this one for awhile. i suppose i’ll have to get it!

i dont know anyone who has read this book that didnt like it
Am I going crazy or did someone write a screenplay based on this book recently??
Hmm. Definatly going to look into it. Sounds like a good read.
Sam Mendes, who did American Beauty will be directing this, and David Benioff (troy, 25th hour) wrote it.
why do they feel the need to turn every great(and not so great) piece of modern literature into a movie

First of all, sorry for the zombie thread, but I didn’t want to start a new one when this one existed.
Second of all, I’m not sure if I liked it or not. I have kids, and I found it horrifying.
First book that’s made me cry in a long time.
I loved it, probably one one of the best books I have read in the past couple of years.
I havent got to see the movie yet. I hear it is good though.
I read it last year with my girlfriend at the time. Good book. Anyone seen the movie yet? Came out in December.
This is one of the best books of the past several years. Unfortunately, movie = terrible.
Not only is "The Kite Runner" a great book, his next one "A Thousand Splendid Suns" is even better.
I heard the complete opposite. I guess I need to find out for myself.
well it is a book about women in Afghanistan pretty much during the same period of time
read both.. agreed.. A Thousand Splendid Suns is better.. only slightly though

I finally watched the movie. How can you say it was terrible? It stayed true to the book and I thought it was very well done. Probably one of the best movie adaptions of a book I have ever seen/read. They cut some stuff out which was expected but I dont think they added anything or changed the storyline even the tinest bit.
