I need a really good knife for fat trimming
all my kitchen knives suck and cutting chicken fat with any of the farberware knives i have is more of a hassle than it’s worth
can someone recommend me 1 really sharp/good knife for cutting chicken fat/steak fat/etc
under $50 hopefully…also would be nice if it could stay sharp for awhile
this will pretty much purely be for cutting fat off of raw meat – if there is something out that there won’t need to be sharpened very often, i am willing to raise my price limit, but right now my farberware’s and steak knives aren’t able to cut the fat off of regular chicken without a bit of a fight

I’ve been researching knives & u basically get what you pay for & NO knife will stay sharp forever.
have you looked into ceramic knives?
they keep an edge better, but the downside is that they’re brittle, so if you tend to drop things, then…
…well if you tend to drop things, maybe you should stay away from knives all together…
You get what you pay for with knifes.
If a blade stays sharp a long time without sharpening, then it’s going to be difficult to sharpen once it is dull. Also, the softer metals usually can get a sharper edge on them.
I like Globals and use a honing rod after each use. They’re not as sharp as when I first got them, but they’re still pretty damn close. Had then for around 4 years now.
