I need a new water heater… Tankless?

0

So I was researching water heaters and came across tankless water heaters. I don’t know much about them, but it is basically hot water on demand so there is no energy loss from wasted hot water.

Anyone know more about them? I mean, is it worth the extra money? How much can I really save?
I have a friend that had one put in and he loves it. If I ever have to replace mine, I will probably go that route.
Yea, I agree that the tankless is the way to go. We’ve been thrilled with ours.

What kind of savings are you seeing? The price difference looks to be about 1k. From the quotes i’ve gotten, the install is the costly part.
Yes.
Just make sure you get one that has enough flow capacity/burners for your house.

I don’t know much about either type, but I was also hearing on the radio this morning about another newer type of heater called a "hybrid" water heater, that’s supposed to have the efficiency of the tankless without the alleged problems of tankless heaters, which are said to be things like reduction of water pressure and delays in hot water delivery – might be worth checking out as well…
