Gotta quote and decided I need to have a go at this myself…

I had a contractor come out to check out remodeling a bathroom. Basically this room needs to be framed out and drywalled, plumbing run for a sink, and have a drop cieling and flooring put down. They quoted me 4700 bucks just to do the drywall, plumbing, and running a little electric..So I need help.

I dont know how to frame a room off and hang drywall. Anything you guys can tell me to help me get this goin?

not that I want to talk you out of this but if you have no experience with framing and drywall (which is way easier than plumbing and electric IMO) I suggest you find a friend who is that can help you or pay the $4700 bucks.

If you start it and can’t finish it or do it wrong and have to have it re-done its going to cost at least that much to fix.
also is an existing bathroom? because the plumbing for the sink should be there unless your moving it, and most of the framing should be done already.
it was but my father in a dfelirious state before he passed away tore all the framing and drywall out…plumbing was never ran for the sink
I say find a friend who knows what they’re doing to help or just pay a pro and consider the money spent vs. your time and mental health.
i say go for it!! theres plenty of people on here and other boards that can help with questions. and pick up some books at lowes or home depot. where is this bathroom in the house? what do you have planned for it? bath? shower? As long as you take your time, and ask for help iof you need it you will be fine. remember to take pics, their not only good for a memories but it helps us help you. good luck!

the bathroom is on the bottom level of the house and i only plan on having it be a 1/2 bath (sink and toilet) i plan on getting the framing and dry wall oboviously… i have a buddy that does electrical so he is gonna come take care of that and the woman’s father is gonna help me with the flooring. So this is the big step i need to hurdle and from there its downhill. I want to do it basically becuase its me and 2 other people in the house, one of which likes to take baths and there is no bathroom to use for about 2 hours which becomes a pain in the ass when i want to have people over or actually do have people over.
