Good merinade for pork tenderloin?
I have a huge pork tenderloin to cook on the grill tonight. I kind of want to make a honey bbq sauce to marinade it in. Anyone have any good recipes for one or a good idea to merinade this in?
BBQ sauce is not marinade. It’s sauce. You put really sugary things like that on LAST when you grill, or they’ll burn before the meat is done. Pork loin is about the only cut of pork that doesn’t NEED brining, but it still might help. And I guess at this point, "tonight" has already passed.
I just used this recipe about a month ago-the dish is to friggin die for-no shit!
1/2 C Apple juice concentrate (not apple juice)
1/4 C Dijon mustard
1/4 C chopped fresh rosemary
8 cloves of garlic, minced
3/4 t coarse black pepper
Mix the above ingredients together, reserve 1/3 C, cover that and refrigerate. Pour the remaining marinade into a resealable plastic bag, add 3# of pork loin, seal bag and turn to coat well. Refrigerate overnight. I turned it a few times to make sure the marinade got all over the meat.
Drain and discard the marinade from the bag. Place pork loin in a lightly greased roasting pan or baking dish. Pour reserved marinade on top. Bake uncovered for 40-45 min @ 350°F until lightly browned and meat has internal temperature of 160°F. Let meat stand 10 minutes before slicing.
It was so tender and delicious-my girlfriend was very impressed. I tossed in a jar of pearl onions (mostly drained) with the meat and they tasted great, too.
my parents always use dales seasoning on pork tenderloin… it’s definitely not a honey bbq flavor… but I’ve yet to find anything better tasting on pork tenderloin
Something that really makes a great pork loin- aluminum foil. Wrap it up loosely in aluminum foil, so that it’s sealed in there like almost like a baked potato, but loosely.
Most of the time, I just cook the brand name peppercorn marinated loins.
