God I hate drywalling :ugh:

I don’t mind walls as much, or rooms that I framed myself, because I know it’s square.
But fuck me if I didn’t just about throw my drill through the new bathroom window trying to drywall the ceiling. Between the completely unsquare room, and the potlights and vent fan to cut holes for and line up perfectly, it was a pain in the ass.
It’s not the most fun you can have bent over backwards holding your arms in the air for hours on end, that’s for sure. That’s why I only do one fixture at a time if I can possibly help it — a ceiling fan here, a switch box there, never a whole room at once.

living room should be easier once we get around to it. Only a ceiling fan. Unfortunately though, 10 foot high ceilings. Going to be renting a drywall lift for that one.
Wait, you’re removing the existing drywall just so you can cut holes in it? Damn.

installing new drywall tard.
man taping drywall is the worst, I thought I got good at it too but realized I clearly suck at it after painting.

Whatever the case may be, what’s wrong with the existing drywall?

complete gut and rebuild. Gonna do it, do it right.
As long as it isn’t unnecessary extra work, yeah. If you really were replacing an entire sheet of drywall just to cut a hole in the new one and run a wire, that would be excessive.
your cutting your holes first before hanging? might wanna invest in a rotozip, makes it alot easier
Use the lift for all of your ceilings. It makes your life so much easier. Even on your 8ft ceilings. I was using 12 ft panels, it was impossible to not use the lift.

Line up the lift with the sheet on it, get it ready to be put into place without cutting the holes. Paint the edges of the fixture box, lift the sheet into place and press it to the box. When you lower it, you’ve got a pretty good mark for cutting the hole.

The rotozip was a huge help as well. Luckily, My brother had it, I wouldn’t have thought to use it.
there would honestly, not be room in the bathroom for the lift, it’s a very small bathroom. We got it done though. Just have to tile and paint now.

What’s wrong with you? Who the hell would even attempt that?
