buttermilk pancakes

I made this recipe off of allrecipies.com but they didn’t turn out very good

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup and 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons and 1-1/2 teaspoons butter, melted
  • 2 cups and 1 tablespoon buttermilk
  • 2 cups and 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3/8 pinch salt (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons and 1/4 teaspoon sugar

The got a little dark which i was worried about (before eating them) but the insides were still soupy and doughy. I just want to make a buttermilk pancake like a restaurant, anyone have a recipe they’d like to share?

I used a very low heat BTW
You may try taking the sugar out of the recipe, but I can’t help you past that. Sorry.
I’ve used that recepie before. The problem is that you aren’t cooking high enough. Start out at medium high until your pan/griddle/skillet gets hot enough and then bump it back down to medium. Don’t flip them until they bubble in the near center. If you cook them too low the outsides get down, but the heat won’t work its way in.
That’s the thing with pancakes, you must cook them on at least medium heat for them to actually cook. They cook very quickly as well. As soon as you see the battle starting to bubble begin checking the bottom to see if it’s browning nicely. When you’re satisfied with the browning on one side flip it and cook the rest of it. The cakes should come out nice.
I’ll have to try them again and see, thanks for the advise
