Nice Cookies

i bought a bonsai tree kit today and im confused to no end.

step 1:

poke 5 holes in the bottom of the pre-planted tub of seeds. place the tub with the original lid in a small saucer or shallow bowl of warm water.
Let stand for 20 minutes. Check to assure the tub is saturated by loking at the surface of the tub.

ok so i poured some warm water in a bowl and put the "tub" in it. I poked 5 holes in the bottom of the tub before doing that.

im confused because the "tub" is a bunch of white rocks with some other brown shit in it and what looks to be a little bit of soil at the bottom. The seeds are in there.

and 20 mintues seems like too short a time, im thinking its probably more like 20 hours.

well anyway, the kit says it comes with preplanted seeds in a specially formulated growing medium, which im assuming is this plastic cups with the white rocks in it, it does have the seeds in there though), a pot, a propagating cover, and compost. im assuming the compost is that bag of soil that came with it. and the propagating cover is this empty plastic cup with no lid on it.

HELP!
