Attic Room w/ Pine flooring
0My bedroom is a finished attic with knotty pine flooring, closet doors and walls on either side. the ceilings are steepled and the walls and ceiling are compressed cardboard beadboard stuff (pre-sheetrock material). what would be a striking color to paint the walls? I have light green rugs and a brunish green couch right now. I was thinking of some sort of light green walls but would like something more bold but that fits in with what I have already. Thanks! Pics may be forthcoming.
Ignore the carpet, and drapes they’re gone
Fuck me. Drywall that entire room and go with white ceilings, taupe walls and white trim/doors.
wow that room looks atrocious…gut it and drywall it or atleast get rid of the beadboard on the ceiling and the wood on the wall
meh not going to live here for more than another year so im not re-drywalling it.. id like to with some lights in the ceiling, etc. just wanted a summer project to paint the walls… i was thinking mint green?
the attic was finished in the pre-sheetrocking days all the trim loooks so shitty
i was thinking whitewashing the pine and painting the rest of the shitty beadboard stuff taupe-ish…. any other idea?s? im going for a modern look even though it doesnt realliy jive with what im working with
mint green ftl
I think that mint green might possibly be the worst color you could put in this room.
Pull up the ugly carpet and free that nice floor. If you paint the knotty pine on the ends you need to be slapped.
If you want a modern look you could paint the windows a dark color, dark blue red or even black. Find a color for the walls. Since they are angled you may want to go with a lighter color to keep it feeling open. You could also do different shades or colors on the vertical walls and angled walls. That would give a neat effect.
My bedroom was in the top portion of an A-frame when I was in high school, and I painted just the 2 vertical walls(on either end) a dark blue color, and left the ceiling/side walls white. It kept the room feeling open but gave me the color that I wanted. I’d probably take this approach, and if you really need green(which I think is terrible) try a sage color, not mint. A warm tan-ish color would probably be nicer though.
I bet that room gets hotter than shit in the summer, depending on where you live of course.
