pool rule?

in 8 ball pool i called my pocket for the 8 but i hit the stripe ball first(i was solid) and the 8 ball went in the called pocket. what happens here?
it’s 8-ball. it’s whatever rules you want to play by.
Usually play no combos on the 8-ball and you have to call it.

And the cue ball has to hit your ball first on other combos, otherwise, even if you make the ball, you lose your turn.
