Nice Cookies

I have an extra room in my new house, and I don’t know what to do with it. Room measures 10.5 x 12.5. Room is great because it has a closet, and double doors. Also has a normal sized window, and is featured at the front of the house.

Things I’ve considered:

1. Home Theater Room. Ruled this out because I’d rather ramp up the great room. We spend all our time in this room, and would rather enjoy quality home theater here. Budget was another concern.

2. Game Room. Haven’t quite ruled this out, but I’m limited due to size. Pool table is out (could MAYBE fit a 6ft table with 36" cues).

I want to install a flagstone patio on the back of the house… in the planning stages now.

Has anyone done it? Input? Thoughts?

I plan on having an Open House party in the coming months. Its going to be a themed party, TV Land Luau! And I’m having trouble decideing on food. It needs to be simple buffet style, something thats not going to keep me in the kitchen/at the grill the entire duration of the party. I plan on having 25+ guests, anyone have any suggestions? I’ve got the decorations covered, just need food ideas.

Grilled food is easy it won’t dirty up the kitchen and it’s good. Grill some pineapple maybe some chicken or burgers w/ your favorite sauce. Chop and serve on toothpics like mini kabobs.

Hey guys
so it seems like it is just one of the switches in the breaker that is making the buzzing noise. It is the switch that gives the power to the lightbulbs in 2/4 bedrooms in this house…

so is it something that needs an electrician? what is causing the buzzing? when it is switched off the buzzing goes away immedietly
you could probably remove and replace it yourself. get numbers off of it, go to your local home depot/lowes/menards, ask for that part and then for instructions on how to install it

So in less than a week I will be taking an 8 hr drive down to the Outer Banks in NC with my family. I cannot wait to just relax and sit on my ass for an entire week. Having that said I always enjoy a good book while relaxing on the beach and thought I might get some interesting suggestions here. I’m open for anything. Your thoughts and opinions are appriciated.

Anyone have a solar or wind power setup at their house. I’ve been looking at putting up a wind turbine for supplemental power. There is a local company that is selling an installed wind solution right now that sounds pretty good. 35-80ft. tower with a 12′ rotor on the turbine. They say it is providing 100% power for several of the homes they have installed it at. Apparently from what I had previously read, each meter in rotor diameter is supposed to about double the power output.

I am just curious about individual experiences with these, things to do, things to avoid and stuff like that.

Never heard of that before…

but, put it in half of a pineapple, put in oven, and see how it goes.

I cut open a pineapple and put the salmon inside the crevice – cutting some chunks to place on top, bottom and in all the little nooks- then covered in tupolo honey. We’ll see how it goes.
