Portable AC/Crank Windows Crew Assemble

my silly parents are so silly that they believe that push up windows are for poor people, so im stuck with these shitty crank windows, and the central ac in our house only works effectively in the master bedroom… and my fucking parents dont even use the AC or heater EVER! and everytime i put it on they go apeshit on me…

so my question is… has anyone ever used a portable ac with crank windows, or at all? i dont have the slightest idea about how im going to fix this problem
Try to find a little window unit that will fit in your window and hide it from your parents with some curtains. You’ll have AC but nobody else will.

Ahhh! Carpenter Bees - My pest control guide.

My brother had a pretty bad carpenter bee infestation at his house in north florida. I wrote up a little guide based upon our experience and research.

Stop these pests before they tear apart all the wood on the exterior of your house.

WD-40 up the hole + lighter = flaming bee falling out of hole

funny every time

A lot of fun things might set the house on fire. I am a bold sportsman.

** Official Book Club - Book #1 The Crying of Lot 49 - Thomas Pynchon **

Yea yea yea i know it wasn’t the top on the votes, but it was a VERY close second and it is very short plus I’ve already read 1984, so here is what we are going to do.

We’re going to read this as a warm up book and then 1984 directly after. Seeing as it is so short the book should be read for discussion by Sunday June 24th, This should be plenty of time seeing as you have two weekends and I am sure most of you could finish it in one sitting.

We will be starting 1984 the Wednesday of June 28th.

Help me find a book, OT

I read it in fifth grade. I want to say the author’s name is Peck (but it wasn’t on a list of richard peck’s books). The protagonist is Lonnie, who lives near a swap or something with his father. He befriends a crazy man who lives out there. I remember that he brought the man a jar of coffee, and the man ripped out one of his rotten molars. Can’t remember much more. Help?

brie

i love this shit, anyone got good brie ideas/fav brand?
no favorite brands but I agree I love it as well. I’ve only had brie at vendor parties and conventions so I don’t know if the quality is always there but its good nonetheless.
Bake it in a pie filling with fresh fruit preserves in it.
Not health food, but holy crap…

would like to make my own fried rice

got any tips?

i was thinking of throwing in snap peas and carrots, maybe a few other ingredients. i’m pretty open to any ideas. can it be done in a wok? after loving it so much for all these years in restraunts, i realized i’ve never made it at home and have no idea how to even attempt it.
Is this my first post?

If you’re gonna put snap peas and carrots in it, you might as well save yourself the trouble and go to Panda Express.

Heat some sesame oil in a wok (or big pan). Throw in some onion and minced garlic (don’t let the garlic burn). Throw in left over rice (new rice gives you moist mushy fried rice). Let it sit till the rice gets a little crusty. Add a little soy sauce and a little salt. Throw in some chopped kim chi & juice and whatever left over meats (kalbi) / veggies (chopped green beans please) you have laying around in your fridge. Put an egg in there if you’d like.

Going to "Craft" opening tonight with gf

The owner/chef is Tom Colicchio the host of "Top Chef". The reason we get to go is that my gf’s friend got a job and is allowed to invite 2 friends/family to eat for free on opening night. Anything I should do/try for the big event?

What did you think? I have been to Gramercy Tavern back in the day and was impressed.

Book Crew v.paperbackswap

Anyone else using I just signed up today, seems cool so far.

For anyone curious, you list your used books you’re willing to ship out, and earn credits for each book shipped. You can then use those credits to get books you want. 1 credit = 1 book. They have it where you get 3 free credits if you list 9 books. I’ve put up about 30 this afternoon, and had 5 requests for books already, with 5 of my other books on people’s wishlists. Using the site is free, the only thing you pay for is when you ship your books out to whoever want them. Seems like a good way to read books on the cheap.

Is this repairable?

When my dog was a puppy he completely shredded a section of carpet in my basement. He pulled it up, tore holes on the edges and shredded the padding underneath. Is this fixable or do I have to recarpet my entire basement? Here’s a bad pic of the damage. You can see where it’s torn along the edge. I can basically uncover a section that’s about 8′x8′.

Is there a cheap way to fix this?
If you can find the same exact carpet you can replace the section and try to make the seam really tight. There’s a seam in our livingroom carpet because the room is wider than the width carpet is sold, it’s barely noticeable. That however was done by pros.
