What are some good books to read on being a better salesman?

Something like salesdog.. any other good ones out there?
In for answers as well. I like reading these kinds of books.
books on rapport and NLP (neruo linguistic programming) are helpful. there is even an NLP for dummies i think….
What he said above me..

Zig Zigler makes some awesome books on selling. Helped me a ton
Thanks guys.. i’ll look into them. thanks for the suggestions.
Another thing, even if selling isn’t your thing you can still learn a lot from the ideas and reasoning Ziglar uses.

Are harder matresses better for your back?

Thats what i heard. in china, they sleep on wood.. i never hear about back problems much in china.
You never hear about people getting dragged out of their homes by the military so they can be bulldozed and replaced with high-rises, either.

A stiff mattress is good, but only if it’s topped with foam.
Yup.. I have a memory foam mattress but I liked the firmer beds because the memory foam makes up for the stiffness of the bed.
I thought the stiffness mattered to the amount of weight on it

Cooking two pot roasts in the same pan…help…

Tomorrow I’m having some family over for dinner and I’m cooking a pot roast. I have a large roast and a small one– two of the guys that’ll be there eat a ton. Problem is I’m not sure how to cook them. The roasting pan I have will fit the large roast and vegetables nicely, but I don’t think it’ll fit the small one.

How do I do this? Stack them? Stack them and switch top them from top to bottom a couple times? Double the liquid? Not sure how to go about this the right way.

So this is where the Home Improvement peeps are!

Funny, I usually only lurk in Wall Street and Yard Sale. Never even noticed this forum.

I was wondering what you guys think of my renovation project, I have a slideshow here:

Story:
Bought a Crappy house about 1.5 yrs ago. Father, Brother and I renovated the whole deal. Tore the roof off, and rebuilt the whole house. Next year is landscaping time.

Any comments would be nice for this newb.

I think I just found my new favorite part of OT.
Kitchen looks great.

Recessed lighting still cool?

Are recessed lighting still "cool/modern"? I got a bunch of random lighting all over the house and thinking about adding some uniform recessed lighting in the Living Room/Family Room and Hallways.

Any other good alternatives?

Also the bedrooms have these ugly old school ceiling fans, should I replace with new ceiling fans or just do away with the fans?
do away with fans, but it depends… vaulted ceiling? how high is the ceiling? It looks absolutely ridiculous when people put ceiling fans on 8-foot ceilings.

We’re decorating our kitchen…..gimme your opinions and ideas!

Heres the kitchen before/after so far…..

I really want to paint the baseboards white but I have to live with the counter tops and cabinets probably until the summer.

The kitchen table is going to the garage sale in the spring and we’re going to build bench seating along the 3 walls by the window to go with a rectangular table. (We’ll also be able to store stuff under the seats which will be awesome because our kitchen is so damn small)

Help me make the most of it because I really don’t care for it………I told my fiancee that I got to pick the living room colors if she picked out the kitchen

When a recipe calls for "red wine"..

….is there a specific kind that is better to use than others?
depends on the dish, general red i use for cooking is cab. and not shit cab, but one that you would actually enjoy drinking.
For recipes using wine, I either use a generic/non-expensive wine unless it’s a sauce. I then tend to use the wines that I enjoy drinking.
Merlots and cabs are generally pretty safe. Use something that you like though. None of this "cooking wine" hoopla.
I typically use a cab. My rule is "Never cook with a wine you wouldn’t drink a glass of while cooking."
