Looking for baked french toast ? l’Orange recipe

But not one with croissants. If I don’t make something tasty for breakfast on christmas, my mom’s gonna make me eat frozen quiche. Oh, and she’s vegetarian.
Just mix in some Grand Marnier with your egg mixture and cook just like regular french toast. Perhaps make up an orange glaze with some frozen OJ concentrate with some brandy or other liqueur mixed in.
I ended up filling a casserole with sliced french bread, then mixing up 6 egg yolks, about 2 cups of milk, 1/4 cup of gran marnier, and a cup of orange juice. Then I made an orange juice reduction and whipped it into some cream with a little sugar and gran marnier. It was epic.

ceramic knives

Trying to figure out whether the ceramic bladed knives are worth it? Seems like Kyocera is the bigger brand that makes em.

ANy ideas or preferences about these?
They are very nice and sharp as hell but you have to be careful because you can chip the blade. Do not ever try to cut bone with one and do not use any type of stone or other hard cutting board. Personally I don’t see the need for one although they are pretty cool.

Not any ceramic ones at this site but there are some incredible chefs knives.

Homebrew Crew?

I’m a noob. I’ve been thinking about homebrewing for a few weeks, and when we got a phone call from my boyfriend’s brother in Iraq, he said that he wanted to give it a shot too. Since he’s coming home on leave in feb, I figured it’d be fun to have a couple different types to choose from, then he could pick what to brew.

So we went out and bought a full home-brew kit with everything, a 6 gallon glass jug, a 5 gallon one, a 5 g bucket with the spigot, all the other paraphernalia that goes with it, and the kit came with our choice of a mix. Since my boyfriend isn’t too fond of ambers, but loves hef, we got the wheat beer mix. Anyway, we sanitized everything carefully then boiled our water, added the 2 syrups, (one was the actual mix, the other was wheat syrup or something to replace the sugar).

Audiobooks

I’m trying to find some decent free audiobooks that I can download and listen to at work. Anyone can head me towards the right direction?
I have been interested in the same thing. I have not been able to find anything useful yet. A few places I found do not have any good books.
I have atlas shrugged and the fountainhead that i found on mininova. Sound quality is okay considering that they were probably recorded 20 years ago. they’re both amazing books, but atlas is better IMO.

major garage reno. lots of pics

So Ive pretty much re-done every other area/room in the house except the garage. Its been bugging me for a long time. The walls had alot of holes in them and the old cabinets and brown peg board made it look pretty shitty. Also my brother is an electrician so everytime we re-do a room he’s upgraded the electric and ran new circuits because the whole house was originally done on like 3 circuits so this led to lots of wire being run from the panel through the garage into various parts of the house, so a main thing I wanted to accomplish was to cover all that mess up and put in new and less cabinets (since most of the old cabinets were filled with crap anyway and took up alot of space.)

Cooking Crew: What is your style and signature dish?

I honestly have no idea what my style is. I call it Surf Food because most of my influences come from the various places I have visited on surf trips. Lots of Central American and Caribbean flavors. I try to make dishes with a lot of flavor but still good for you. Heart Healthy, Stoner Approved. So if you made a New Years resolution to eat healthier, I have a ton of recipes like this.

My signature dishes are usually fish with some sort of homemade salsa. Last night I made a variation that ended up being really good so here goes.

Hard "Apple Cider"

Apple Cider is in quotations because apple cider wasn’t used, but that’s what we called whatever I was having at the get together I was at last night (tacky holiday sweaters included).

From what I could tell, and see it was:
Bottle of apple juice
Some Captain Morgans
Little bit of Maker’s Mark
Some type of spice was added as well.
And some lemon slices were floating in the mixture of stuff.

All of this was heated in a small crock pot so it was warm.
