Apartment door sticks to door frame.

0

I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and my roommates door seems to be sticking to the door frame. When they open the door, it sticks and so they have to forcefully open the door. It makes a lot of noise so I’m trying to figure out how to fix it. I noticed when I compare my door closed compared to my roommates door, there seems to be a space all around the door on mine. On my roommates door closed, the bottom half seems like there is a little bit of space and the rest of the door fits very snug next to the frame. I’m guessing their door closed should look like mine, but it does not. Any suggestions? I looked online and the hinges seem to be on tight, so I ruled that out. Will the apartment replace/fix the door if requested?

anyone ever ate at one?

i wanna go try his beef wellington and risotto

beef.

and I would so love to go to one of his restraurants.
It’s got to be amazing for how much he tortures all of his chefs.
i suspect it’s aiiiiight… i ate at jamie oliver’s joint in london last summer and it was okay. eating an entree cooked directly by a chef opposed to something mass produced is obviously different.

The Gift of Fear

0

I am reading this book called The Gift of Fear by Gavin De Becker and I have to say that it is really good. It is a non-fiction book and the whole thing is about how to predict and thus avoid violence using the bad feelings in the back of our minds. It is really interesting because as I’m reading it I’m reviewing some of the people I’ve met in my life and the situations I’ve been in and see some of the warning signs that I know I’ve ignored.
I’m also finding that what he is describing isn’t just limited to violence. It is a great reminder to actually listen to yourself every so often without trying to rationalize your gut feelings. I can tell you at least one or two relationships that would’ve ended much earlier had I listened to what I was actually trying to tell myself.

Thoughts on the school? was it worth it? or would you have gone to a different school? Im happy to be starting school. I have been wanting to start learning more about food for a while
the head banquet chef at my work went to one those schools and said she loved it. that’s all the details i have though
A good friend of mine went a few years back in L.A. He said it was cool and learned a lot but not worth it overall.

I want these people out of my house

0

I seem to have bad luck with roommates.

I own my own home, and I am a single person. 20 months ago, I decided I wanted to share my house with a roommate who will pay me rent and split bills so I could have more financial flexibility. I would charge him $400 per month and split the bills 2 ways. But, at the same time, my coworker / friend broke up with his girlfriend and needed a place to stay – quick. Its a 3 bedroom house, so I had room for him and told him he could stay rent-free for a couple of weeks before he moves on. So the agreement was that the first roommate gets a $25 discount off of his $400 rent for putting up with another roommate and he only pays 1/3 of the bills instead of 1/2. My coworker is to pay his 1/3.

Help buying mattress

0

Im looking at getting a new mattress and wanted some advice on buying. Today im gonna go look at mattresses and get an idea of cost and what i like. I do have a few questions off the top of my head.
Should i get a new box spring to go with it?
What should i look for when buying a new mattress?
Any good brands recomended?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
i found that the mark up is insane on that shit. I have a friend that works at a furniture store and is able to buy at almost 50% off (can buy at 10% over cost) now i know to wheel and deal on any furniture item ESPECIALLY when it’s time to throw out the old mattress.

Anyone use a cordless electric lawn mower?

0

I’ve done some research online, but still not convinced which one to buy.
don’t do it if you have any sizeable lawn, the batteries don’t last. Better yet make one out of an old gas mower, a car battery, a 12 volt motor and the appropiet wiring.
I have a Homelite. Got it from Home Depot. Works great, except not self propelled. I can mow the lawn twice before having to recharge, would most likely actually do my lawn almost 3 times, but don’t want to have to wait for the re-charge. Yards down here are fairly small though.
